• Have strong programming skills, familiarity with high-performance computing environments, and proficiency in at least one scientific computing, statistical analysis, or visualization tool such as Python, MATLAB, or NCL.

• Have good English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, strong practical research abilities, an innovative scientific mindset, and the ability to conduct research independently.

• Demonstrate strong professional ethics and integrity, comply with applicable laws and regulations, and have no adverse professional record.

• Demonstrate strong teamwork, professionalism, and commitment to scientific research, and be able to work full-time on postdoctoral research throughout the appointment.

Experience with machine learning, numerical weather prediction, data assimilation, high-resolution modeling, multi-source atmospheric observations, or UAV-based meteorological measurements and observations is particularly welcome. Applicants with hands-on experience in UAV-based meteorological measurements will be given preference.

Appointment and Benefits

The standard postdoctoral appointment is two years. Where required by the research program, the appointment may be extended for up to one additional year, subject to approval and a supplementary agreement.

Postdoctoral researchers receive salary and benefits in accordance with CAMS regulations and individual research performance.

Additional benefits include:

• Position- and performance-based compensation in accordance with CAMS regulations;

• Recognition at the intermediate professional-title level for eligible postdoctoral researchers who have not previously undergone professional-title evaluation;

• Postdoctoral apartments provided by the China Meteorological Administration (CMA), or a housing allowance for eligible researchers who do not use designated postdoctoral housing;

• Household-registration relocation support for eligible researchers in accordance with relevant policies;

• A one-time pre-tax award of RMB 200,000 for postdoctoral researchers who complete their appointment on schedule and receive an Excellent rating in their final assessment, subject to institutional review and approval.

Application

Applicants should submit a CV together with the following supporting materials:

Copies of the doctoral graduation certificate and Ph.D. degree certificate, or official documentation confirming expected completion of the doctoral degree;

The applicant’s doctoral dissertation;

Two published papers that best demonstrate the applicant’s research ability and academic level, or one independently authored academic monograph;

A brief postdoctoral research proposal;

A copy of a valid identification document or passport;

Two signed recommendation letters from doctoral supervisors or senior experts in a relevant discipline, including one from the applicant’s own Ph.D. supervisor.
