<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">UT-Austin’s Environmental Science Institute and Jackson School of Geosciences seeks a motivated researcher to join a project focused on streamflow reconstruction in the Edwards Aquifer
region of Texas using bald cypress tree chronologies, contributing to a broader effort to understand natural variability in regional water resources.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">The Fellow will engage in field and laboratory research, including leading field sampling campaigns, analysis of past hydroclimate variability, operation of a high-resolution tree-ring
imaging system (“Skippy”), and preparation of peer-reviewed publications. Opportunities also include co-mentoring students and contributing to a collaborative interdisciplinary research environment, including novel applications of dendrochemistry, community-based
participatory research, paleoclimatology, and water quality analysis.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><span style="font-size:11.0pt">We are looking for candidates with a Ph.D. in geosciences or related field, and demonstrated expertise in dendrochronology, paleoclimate and/or hydroclimatic variability. Experience
with tree-ring software (e.g., CooRecorder, CDendro, dplR or similar) is required. Experience with streamflow reconstruction, bald cypress chronologies, and/or isotope-based approaches is desirable. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
