The Department of Ocean Science and Technology (DOST) of the Faculty<br>
of Science and Technology invites applications for the position of<br>
Full/Associate/Assistant Professor in the following disciplines:<br>
<br>
Underwater acoustic communication and network<br>
Ocean remote sensing<br>
Marine imaging and visualization technology<br>
<br>
DOST offers quality postgraduate programmes. The emphasis of our<br>
programmes is directed to the areas of ocean environment and ecology,<br>
ocean circulation, coastal disasters, and ocean technology. Currently,<br>
DOST has 11 academic staff. UM is among the top 1% in ESI (Essential<br>
Sciences Indicators) rankings in Engineering. The Engineering and<br>
Technology programme of UM is ranked in the 126–150 bracket in the THE<br>
World University Rankings.<br>

DOST houses cutting-edge facilities including the Ocean Remote Sensing<br>
and Data Perception Laboratory, Ocean Robotic Unmanned Systems<br>
Laboratory, and Ocean Disaster Prevention and Urban Public Safety<br>
Laboratory. Our on-campus Polar Orbit Satellite Ground Receiving<br>
Station enables ocean remoting sensing projects. Centre for Regional<br>
Oceans (CRO)’s laboratories – the Laboratory for Ocean Environmental<br>
Pollution Analysis and Assessment, Laboratory for Ocean Environmental<br>
Pollution Prevention and Remediation, Laboratory for Ocean<br>
Environmental Simulation and Modelling, and Laboratory for Ocean and<br>
Atmospheric Research – support collaborative research. Successful<br>
candidates will utilize advanced facilities and technologies to<br>
conduct impactful research, driving the advancement of the field of<br>
ocean science and technology.<br>

Qualifications<br>
<br>
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in Ocean Technology, Ocean<br>
Science, Remote Sensing, or related areas. Preference will be given to<br>
candidates with research and teaching experience at the tertiary<br>
education level.<br>
<br>
The selected candidate is expected to assume duty in August 2026.<br>
<br>
Remuneration<br>
<br>
A taxable annual remuneration starting from MOP1,250,200<br>
(approximately USD154,350) for the position of Full Professor,<br>
MOP1,052,800 (approximately USD129,980) for the position of Associate<br>
Professor and MOP855,400 (approximately USD105,600) for the position<br>
of Assistant Professor will be commensurate with the successful<br>
applicants’ academic qualification and relevant professional<br>
experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is<br>
effectively around 5% – 7% after various discretionary exemptions.<br>
