<strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;font-weight:normal">Research Engineering Scientist Associate V</span></strong><b>.</b> This research staff position will support and lead interdisciplinary research in environmental science, water resources,
and paleoenvironments within the Jackson School of Geosciences.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p><b>Required Qualifications</b>: Master’s degree in Geosciences or Environmental Sciences (emphasizing Geochemistry) and at least 6 years of relevant experience, OR Doctoral degree in Geosciences or Environmental Sciences (emphasizing Geochemistry), minimum
of 1 year of related experience or a strong record of publication in the field. We seek candidates with experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas:<o:p></o:p></p>

Conduct scientific research and assist students in their research on surface water, aquifers, cave systems, climate variability, paleoenvironmental proxies, and the resilience of water resources in urban and rural settings<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;mso-list:l2 level1 lfo2">
Co-supervision of research and laboratory activities of employees, graduate students, and undergraduate students.<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;mso-list:l2 level1 lfo2">
Identification of grant opportunities, and inception, writing, editing, and submission of grant proposals working with affiliated ESI faculty.<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;mso-list:l2 level1 lfo2">
Assist in the management of the Environmental Science Institute. This includes review and approval of documents online, organization of staff activities, and coordination of ESI’s research networks, including the Texas Water Research Network.<o:p></o:p></li></ul>
<p><strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Preferred qualifications:</span></strong><o:p></o:p></p>

A strong publication record in isotope geochemistry and/or paleo-environmental analysis.
