of Connecticut</a></span> focused on blue carbon ecosystems (e.g., mangroves, salt marshes, seagrasses) as sites for ocean alkalinity enhancement (OAE) and carbon dioxide removal (CDR).<br>

The postdoc will lead and develop sediment diagenetic and reactive-transport models to investigate alkalinity generation, carbon cycling, and geochemical feedbacks at the sediment–water interface, with implications for scalable and durable climate mitigation
strategies.<br>
<br>
A strong modeling and computational background, as well as proficiency in MATLAB and other programming languages (e.g., Python) are required.<br>
<br>
Preferred experiences include experience with sediment biogeochemistry, porewater chemistry, or coastal systems. Familiarity with reactive-transport frameworks (e.g., 1-D or multi-D diagenetic models). Interest in carbon dioxide removal, ocean alkalinity enhancement,
or climate mitigation research. Strong scientific writing skill is also preferred.<br>

Location will be at the University of Connecticut (Storrs, CT), Department of Earth Sciences, with a flexible start date and appointment duration of 1 year, and renewable for up to 2 years contingent upon performance.<br>
