The Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences within the College of Science and Engineering at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer of Geology position beginning in August
2026. This position carries a full-time teaching load of 12 contact hours per semester.<br>

The successful candidate will teach general education and upper-level courses in geology and geosciences such as Introductory Geology, Environmental Geology, Earth Materials, Written and/or Oral Communications, Regional Geology, Field Techniques, and Contemporary
Geoscience Issues, as well as courses in the candidate’s specialty. Teaching experience in a variety of formats and modalities including a strong field/applied learning component, ability to coordinate introductory lab offerings, and knowledge of and ability
to incorporate Southeastern USA geology into course offerings is preferred.<br>

The successful candidate will also participate in departmental activities, provide departmental service, and engage in community outreach to expand our visibility and student enrollment and participation in the Geology and Geosciences programs.</div>
