 of an <strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">NSF-funded atmospheric chemistry project</span></strong>. We would greatly appreciate your help in sharing this opportunity with potential candidates.

<strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Dr. Aparajeo </span></strong></span><strong><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Chattopadhyay</span></strong><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif"> and
<strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">Professor Vasilii Petrenko</span></strong> to investigate the
<strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">kinetic isotope effects (KIEs)</span></strong> of methane (CH©þ) in atmospheric removal through reactions with the
<strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;font-weight:normal">hydroxyl (OH)</span></strong> radical and the
<strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;font-weight:normal">chlorine (Cl)</span></strong> atom. This laboratory project utilizes
<strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;font-weight:normal">gas-phase chemical kinetics techniques,</span></strong> employing a</span><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">
<strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;font-weight:normal">laser photochemical reactor</span></strong> coupled with
<strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;font-weight:normal">online and offline spectroscopic instruments,</span></strong> including
<strong><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif;font-weight:normal">TILDAS, FTIR, and UV spectrometers</span></strong>. These high-precision KIE measurements will help better constrain the global CH<span class="s1"><sub><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">4</span></sub></span>
 budget from atmospheric CH<span class="s1"><sub><span style="font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">4</span></sub></span> isotopic measurements.</span></p>

<p class="p1"><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Aptos",sans-serif">A Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, Atmospheric Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Chemical Physics, or a related field is required. We are particularly looking for candidates
 with expertise in experimental chemical kinetics methods. Prior experience in IR and UV spectroscopy, pulsed laser systems, and gas handling systems is preferred.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
