<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">The William Averette Anderson Fund—fondly referred to as the Bill Anderson Fund, or the BAF—is a vibrant nonprofit organization whose
mission is to expand the number of underrepresented minority professionals in hazards and disaster research and practice. The BAF is helping to transform the disaster workforce by empowering the diverse next generation of leaders to address the disproportionate
burden of environmental hazards among communities of color and other socially marginalized groups.</span><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">We are seeking underrepresented minority doctoral students whose research aims to address the disproportionate burdens of environmental
hazards and disasters among marginalized communities. We welcome students from all disciplines, including engineering, the social sciences, emergency management, public health, and more. Bill Anderson Fund Fellows receive professional development training,
networking opportunities, mentorship, and access to hands-on research experiences.</span><span style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
