<b>Research Scientist</b> to join the School of Geosciences in the Mewbourne College of Earth and Energy in summer 2024.
<b>This position will support an industry-university partnership to characterize and analyze high salinity brines using Raman spectroscopy</b>. The Research Scientist will work collaboratively with the Dr. Megan Elwood Madden to do the following: manage the
project, analyze industrial brine samples and spectra, interpret the results, improve analytical methods, and communicate the results in written reports and presentations to industry partners. This full-time, benefits eligible position is funded by a 1-year
grant, with the possibility of renewal if the work is successful at meeting industry goals. The analytical work (~50%) must be completed in person, however a hybrid work schedule may be considered. </span><span style="color:#212121;mso-ligatures:none"><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#212121">• Experience with analytical chemistry and/or spectroscopic methods <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#212121">• Ability to work independently, as well as in collaboration with other members of a team <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#212121">• Strong writing, organization, and interpersonal communication skills <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#212121">• Knowledge of Aqueous Geochemistry, particularly high salinity systems <o:p></o:p></span></p>
