<div>The School of Freshwater Sciences (SFS) at UWM is the only school in the nation dedicated solely to the study of freshwater issues. Its interdisciplinary research and education programs link science with action and are integrated across five majors areas:
freshwater system dynamics, human and ecosystem health; freshwater technology; freshwater economics, policy, and management; and climate and atmospheric sciences. It is the School's goal to be recognized world-wide as the source of expert knowledge on water
issues and a catalyst for great ideas that change how people think about and manage water resources.</div>

seeks a Teaching Assistant Professor (a fixed-renewable, instructional academic staff position).</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>The successful candidate's duties will include:</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div> Teaching 3-4 undergraduate courses per semester, including general-education courses in meteorology; thunderstorms, tornadoes, and hurricanes; and planetary atmospheres, and entry-level majors courses in atmospheric and climate science.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div> Supervising and mentoring graduate teaching assistants who help to instruct general-education meteorology and entry-level majors atmospheric and climate science lab courses.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div> Identifying and disseminating scholarship, internship/externship, professional-development, and job announcements to the program's majors.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div>Depending on the Atmospheric Science Program's future needs, the successful candidate may also actively participate in the development of a new climate-track program at the School of Freshwater Sciences and have the opportunity to supervise undergraduate
research projects, engage in pedagogy-focused research, and contribute to assessments of the program curriculum and requirements.</div>

<div>Performance of Duties</div>

<div>Designs and facilitates classroom, online, and/or laboratory instruction in an academic discipline to ensure quality delivery of instruction and integration of content within an academic work unit. Provides for-credit instruction in formats such as classroom,
online and/or laboratory settings, including grading. Serves as an instructor of record.</div>

</div>
<div> Develops and designs curriculum and instructional material relevant to a course of instruction.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div> Advises students on academic and career direction within a specific field of study.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div> Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including assessment of student performance.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div> May supervise student employees involved in development or delivery of instruction.</div>
<div><br>
</div>
<div> Collaborates with department faculty and staff to develop teaching strategies relevant to the discipline.</div>

<div> Contributes to the development of teaching and learning scholarly work including publications and presentations.</div>

<div>Minimum Qualifications</div>

<div> Ph.D. in atmospheric science, meteorology, geosciences, Earth system science, or a related field at the time of appointment</div>
