<b>Vacancy: Postdoctoral researcher position in carbon cycle
modelling and data assimilation at Lund University, Sweden</b> <br>
<br>
The Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science (<a
href="https://www.nateko.lu.se" class="moz-txt-link-freetext">https://www.nateko.lu.se</a>)
is seeking to appoint a postdoctoral researcher with a strong
background in carbon cycle modelling, data assimilation, inverse
modelling or applied mathematics. <br>
<br>
The appointee will be part of a vibrant and international team
within the Department of Physical Geography and Ecosystem Science.
The department operates and further develops the Carbon Cycle Data
Assimilation System and the LUMIA inverse modelling framework
capable of quantifying sources and sinks of carbon dioxide through
the assimilation of observational data. The department also hosts
the ICOS Carbon Portal that develops operational data products and
services building on ICOS observations for analysing the state of
the carbon cycle of Europe. <br>
<br>
The position is linked to the EU-funded projects CORSO (<a
class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://corso-project.eu">https://corso-project.eu</a>)
and AVENGERS (coordinated by Lund University, <a
class="moz-txt-link-freetext" href="https://avengers-project.eu">https://avengers-project.eu</a>).
As part of these projects the appointee will work on developing
and applying a coupled carbon cycle fossil fuel data assimilation
system </span><span lang="en-NL">and/or the LUMIA regional
inversion system</span><span lang="en-NL">. The appointee will be
a member of the inverse modelling group; he/she will work on the
development and application of the assimilation systems together
with the project partners and international collaborators. <br>
<br>
The </span><span lang="EN-GB">position</span><span lang="en-NL">
will be available for 24 months, with a preferred starting date of
