Gilhooly lab</a> in the Department of Earth Sciences at Indiana University Indianapolis is recruiting a PhD student to study how viral infection controls the carbon and sulfur isotopic fractionations produced by phototrophic sulfur bacteria. For more about

<p class="MsoNormal">The student will develop their dissertation research in collaboration with a team of virologists and geochemists from the Universities of Miami, Pittsburgh, and Lausanne supported by a NASA Exobiology grant. We seek an applicant with a
background in stable isotopes, biogeochemistry, geobiology, or microbiology. The research involves field work, isotopic analyses, and microbial mesocosm experiments. Student stipend, tuition, and benefits are supported by the grant. <o:p></o:p></p>
