<span style="color:#212121">The project focuses on the MERRA2 reanalysis, which include assimilation of aerosol optical thickness but not a good model representation of volcanic and pyroCb aerosols. In a nutshell, the goal of the project is to understand a)
how plumes are represented in the MERRA2 reanalysis, b) how the presence of plumes impacts data assimilation, c) how we can use analysis increments to derive the radiative impacts of plumes.<span class="apple-converted-space"> </span><o:p></o:p></span></p>
