We are seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate focusing on two areas: 1) how

<div class="ContentPasted0">climate change will alter aquatic flows in streams and rivers across the country;</div>

<div class="ContentPasted0">and 2) how climate information can be further incorporated into aquatic ecosystem</div>

<div class="ContentPasted0">management. This position, which will be located at the University of</div>

<div class="ContentPasted0">Massachusetts Amherst, is part of the U.S. Geological Survey's Future of Aquatic</div>

<div class="ContentPasted0">Flows initiative. The title of the project associated with this opening is “A data-</div>

driven framework to inform projections of aquatic flows in the Northeast”.</div>

Job responsibilities will include:

<div class="ContentPasted2">• Development of project research goals through innovative ideas and</div>

<div class="ContentPasted2">approaches.</div>

<div class="ContentPasted2">• Development of a data-driven framework for hydroclimatic modeling</div>

<div class="ContentPasted2">including preparation of documentation and instructional material.</div>

<div class="ContentPasted2">• Implementation and analysis of case studies to demonstrate use of scientific</div>

<div class="ContentPasted2">machine learning in providing climate change information.</div>

<div class="ContentPasted2">• Communication and needs assessment of Northeast stakeholders, interaction</div>

<div class="ContentPasted2">with other post-doctoral researchers in the Climate Adaptation Fellows</div>

<div class="ContentPasted2">cohort, and participation in research group meetings.</div>

<div class="ContentPasted2">• Preparation and presentation of research papers and reports at national and</div>

<div class="ContentPasted2">international scientific meetings. Presentation of occasional lectures and</div>

<div class="ContentPasted2">seminars, as requested.</div>

• Other duties as assigned.</div>

Requirements include:

<div class="ContentPasted3">• Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Geosciences, Data Science,</div>

<div class="ContentPasted3">Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Ecology, Water Resources, Forest Resources,</div>

<div class="ContentPasted3">or related field.</div>

<div class="ContentPasted3">• Demonstrated programming and data management skills, knowledge of</div>

<div class="ContentPasted3">statistical methods, and experience with computational methods and</div>

<div class="ContentPasted3">modeling.</div>

<div class="ContentPasted3">• Demonstrated skills in writing scientific papers and project reports.</div>

<div class="ContentPasted3">• Ability to travel and participate in project research meetings, and give</div>

scientific presentations at national meetings.<br>
