The focus of this research will be on the risks and disease burden of contaminated drinking water. The research will have a particular emphasis on understanding disparate burdens of acute gastrointestinal illness. The project brings together expertise in statistics,
public health, and environmental economics through an interdisciplinary team at the University of California, Irvine.<o:p>

Candidates should have strong computational skills, ideally with a focus on public health and/or water management. Experience with econometrics, uncertainty analysis, and statistical software (e.g., R or Stata) is desirable. Additionally, familiarity with spatial
statistics is of interest but not required. Ideally, candidates would have a Master’s or Ph.D. in public health, environmental management, economics, urban planning, water resources engineering, geography, or a related field.
