<p class="MsoNormal">At the request of the Biden administration (<a href="https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2022/04/27/2022-09138/strengthening-the-nations-forests-communities-and-local-economies">Executive Order 14072</a>), the USGCRP has initiated
the production of the first National Nature Assessment (NNA). The NNA will assess the present and future conditions of America’s lands, waters, and ecosystems and the benefits they provide, including connections to the economy, public health, equity, climate
mitigation and adaptation, and national security. The NNA will consider nature in U.S. states, marine areas (exclusive economic zone), territories, Native or Indigenous lands and waters, and other affiliated areas (as appropriate), as well as its significant
interactions with global changes.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Chief of Staff will support the NNA Director in leading participants towards the vision, mission, and goals articulated by the USGCRP’s Subcommittee on Global Change Research (SGCR) and the National Nature Assessment’s Federal Steering
Committee. This will facilitate the multi-agency cooperation needed to produce the NNA.
