<i>Roman </i>is a NASA astrophysics flagship mission expected to launch in late-2026 that will perform wide-area and time-domain surveys of the universe at visible and near-infrared wavelengths. The primary mission objectives are studies in cosmology and exoplanet
demographics, but a wide range of astrophysical investigations are anticipated. <i>
Roman’s </i>primary instrument is the Wide-Field Instrument (WFI); a 300-megapixel visible to near-IR camera with an 0.28 deg<span style="font-size:8.0pt;position:relative;top:-4.0pt;mso-text-raise:4.0pt">2
</span>field-of-view and both imaging and spectroscopic capabilities. WFI is currently in the I&T phase, with many subsystems complete and delivered to the instrument. Full WFI testing is expected to begin in the second half of 2023.

Now is the most exciting time to get involved with WFI. The successful applicant will work directly with the
<i>Roman </i>Project Science team on the integration and test of the instrument. They will also collaborate with GSFC
<i>Roman </i>engineers and mission partners at Ball Aerospace, the Space Telescope Science Institute (STScI) Science Operations Center (SOC), and the Infrared Processing and Analysis Center (IPAC) Science Support Center (SSC). Primary responsibilities for WFI
I&T support include one or more of the following activities: test planning, test shift support, pipeline and tool development, data analysis and trending, and calibration. The remainder of the applicant’s time will be available for independent research projects.<o:p></o:p></p>

stars, exoplanets, and high energy astrophysics. As a member of the Astrophysics Science Division, the successful applicant will be immersed in an enriching and inclusive environment with a diverse body of peers spanning senior scientists to undergraduate
