<p class="MsoNormal">My <a href="https://stratolab.wixsite.com/aquilalab">group</a> at American University, Washington DC is looking to hire a
<a href="http://apply.interfolio.com/123411">research fellow</a> in the field of atmospheric aerosol modeling. The fellow will participate in two NASA-funded projects aiming at understanding the development of volcanic plumes and their impacts on atmospheric
reanalysis and data assimilation. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative and programming skills and familiarity with the representation of volcanic plumes in plume and/or general circulation models. Candidates with an expertise in aerosol modeling and an interest
in studying volcanic plumes are also encouraged to apply. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><b><o:p> </o:p></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Qualifications: 1) Master’s or PhD in atmospheric science, geology, physics, or another field relevant to aerosol and/or volcanic plume modeling on or before August 1, 2023; 2) Proficient coding skills; 3) Expertise in aerosol modeling.

<p class="MsoNormal">This is initially a 1-year term appointment with the possibility of renewal to 2 years. The salary is commensurate with experience, starting at $62,000 per year. The anticipated start date for this position is August 1, 2023 or as soon
