        funded <a href="https://news.uci.edu/2022/10/05/uci-researchers-awarded-7-5-million-for-environmental-justice-initiative/" target="_blank">CLIMATE Justice Initiative</a> (A <span>Cultural</span>, <span>Learning</span>
              and <span>Institutional</span> <span>Model</span> to Accelerate Transformations for
              Environmental Justice) at UC Irvine centered on <span>climate</span> change, <span>environmental</span>
      <span>justice</span>, and community engagement.  A core part of the project is
focused on training post baccalaureate and PhD student Fellows
      in <span>climate</span> change research,
      <span>environmental</span> <span>justice</span>, and community engaged research practices
      (in collaboration with the <a href="https://newkirkcenter.uci.edu/researchjustice/" target="_blank">UCI Research <span>Justice</span> Shop</a>), and on bringing students, researchers, faculty, and community members together through creation of a
      <span>transdisciplinary CLIMATE</span> <span>Justice</span> learning ecosystem at UCI. We are working closely with local community based organizations in Southern California, including Madison Park Neighborhood Association- Green, Orange County Environmental Justice, Crystal Cove Conservancy, and Sacred Places Institute for Indigenous Peoples.  Our Fellows will co-design and implement research projects with the community partners as part of their training.</div><div><br></div><div><div>We are currently seeking <b>2 postdoctoral scholars</b> (one in geoscience/climate science to be based in the <a href="https://www.ess.uci.edu/" target="_blank">Department of Earth System Science</a> (ESS) and one in social science to be based in the <a href="https://www.anthropology.uci.edu/" target="_blank">Dept. of Anthropology</a>) and a <b>PhD level academic coordinator</b>.  The postdocs will be expected to conduct research and teaching related to climate change and environmental justice.  The Academic Coordinator will collaboratively vision, plan, and implement our postbaccaulaureate and graduate fellow education and training programs and play a key role in building the UCI CLIMATE Justice learning ecosystem.  See the ads linked to below for further details:<br><div><br></div><div>ESS Postdoc: <a href="https://recruit.ap.uci.edu/JPF08124" target="_blank">https://recruit.ap.uci.edu/JPF08124</a><br></div><div>Social Science Postdoc:
