<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12.0pt">As a part of the Quality Assurance Team, you will ensure the accuracy and reliability of ambient air pollution monitoring systems and data. These ambient air monitors help the Air Quality Program measure and
track air pollution in order to prevent and reduce its impacts throughout the State of Washington. You and your team will support the program’s efforts to provide real-time air quality information for the protection of public health, forecast air quality,
evaluate the effectiveness of air pollution control programs, and evaluate the effects of air pollution on public health.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12.0pt">The mission of the <a href="http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/air/airhome.html"><span style="font-size:11.5pt;color:windowtext">Air Quality Program</span></a> (AQP) is to protect and improve air quality in Washington
and to protect our State’s environment for current and future generations. In 2021, Washington’s Legislature passed the landmark Climate Commitment Act (CCA) – a sweeping piece of legislation that will track and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and criteria
air pollutants. The environmental justice provisions of the CCA require Ecology to expand our ambient air monitoring in overburdened communities highly impacted by air pollution. The Quality Assurance Specialists will ensure the data we collect from these
new monitoring efforts are accurate and reliable so the AQP can track the progress of air pollution reduction strategies over time.<o:p></o:p></p>
