<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> </span><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Applicants must have earned a PhD in geology, Earth or planetary sciences, or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter,
with a demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance our existing </span><a href="https://www.es.utoronto.ca/people/faculty/"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:blue">departmental
strengths</span></a><span style="font-size:12.0pt">. We invite applicants pursuing innovative research on any aspect of mineral systems, including field-based, experimental or data-science-oriented approaches that explore how Earth's mineral systems evolve
and interact with the geo- and/or biosphere. Possible areas of specialization may include, but are not limited to, mineral exploration (especially critical minerals important to green energy and sustainability), mineral records of igneous and metamorphic evolution,
fluid-rock interactions, biomineralogy and environmental mineralogy. The successful candidate will be expected to pursue impactful and independent research at the highest international level and to establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded
