<div class="elementToProof"><b>Summary: </b>Dr. Inna Popova in the Department of Soil Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is recruiting a graduate student to work on the nematode control in US potato production. Our research program works on utilizing
plant-derived biological compounds with nematocidal activity as one of the approaches for fostering sustainable and eco-conscious agricultural practices. The candidate will be focusing on isolating and identifying potential nematocidal compounds from a plant
feedstock. The position start date is Summer or Fall 2023. </div>

<div class="elementToProof"><b>Position Requirements:</b> Successful applicants will have completed B.S. (preferably M.S.) degree in organic, natural products chemistry, phytochemistry or related field by the start date. The candidate should have a strong background
in purification and compound identification. Practical knowledge of analytical instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, MS, and NMR are required. The candidate will have to be highly motivated, creative, and hard-working. Ideally, applicants will have at least one
peer-review publication and have excellent technical, writing, organizational, record-keeping, and problem-solving skills.
