The successful candidate should demonstrate the potential to build a world-class research programme and a commitment to education and mentorship of students. They will be expected to build up, manage, and lead a pioneering research group, and to contribute
effectively to our ambitions to provide Singapore and other countries in the region the knowledge needed to build societies that are resilient to natural hazards. The appointees will be encouraged to develop links with existing research groups across NTU,
Singapore, and the region, and will be supported to build close links with other research groups, internationally, in solid Earth geoscience, and volcanic or tectonic geohazards. We also expect that the successful candidate will become part of the leadership
team for a large, newly funded, interdisciplinary 5-year research project to study the Southeast Asian Ring of Fire and its hazards.</div>
