These concepts are explored through hands-on laboratory experiments that focus on the basic principles of physics and chemistry. <span class=caps>SCI</span> 2600, Integrated Biology and Earth Science, and/or <span class=caps>SCI</span> 2610, Integrated Physical and Chemical Sciences. <br> <br><span class=caps>SCI</span> 2600 surveys the fundamental scientific principles and systems in biology and the earth sciences by examining the basic building blocks of life, evolution of life, the human body, structure and development of ecosystem, terrestrial formations and surface processes, atmospheric processes, the solar system, as well as the universe. <span class=caps>SCI</span> 2600 includes laboratory experiments that focus on biology and the earth sciences. <br> <br>Further information can be found on the <span class=caps>EAS</span> and University websites (e.g., search the University Catalog). <br> <br>The successful candidate will be willing and able to work and interact with a diverse population of students, faculty, and staff and should be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse urban population. <br> <br>Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, as needed, usually on a semester by semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not covered under the University’s benefit program. Teaching assignments are dependent on both budget and enrollment. An affiliate faculty member’s duties include: meeting assigned classes or delivering on-line content consistent with university, college/school, and departmental policies; providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if appropriate, with department course coordination policies; being available, either face to face or electronically, to students in assigned classes to provide additional academic support as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment; and complying with university-wide student
