</span><a href="https://engineering.dartmouth.edu/community/faculty/klaus-keller"><span style="color:#1155CC">Keller research group</span></a><span style="color:#222222">. The successful candidates will become part of a transdisciplinary research group in the
 area of climate risk management. The research group addresses two interrelated questions. First, how can we mechanistically understand past and potentially predict future changes in the Earth system? Second, how can we use this information to design sustainable,
 scientifically sound, technologically feasible, economically efficient, and ethically defensible risk management strategies? We analyze these questions through mission-oriented basic research covering a wide range of disciplines such as engineering, decision
 science, statistics, Earth sciences, economics, and philosophy. Current collaborative projects analyze, for example, the
</span><a href="https://healed.psu.edu/"><span style="color:#1155CC">dynamics and impacts of deep decarbonization</span></a><span style="color:#222222">, the
</span><a href="https://coastalhub.org/"><span style="color:#1155CC">design of coastal flood risk management strategies</span></a><span style="color:#222222">, and

<p style="margin:0in;margin-bottom:.0001pt;background:white"><span style="color:#222222">The successful candidates will co-lead research to improve the characterization and understanding of (i) uncertainties and (ii) system dynamics related to climate risks.

 in relevant disciplines (e.g., applied math, operations research, statistics, engineering, or Earth sciences) and interests in collaborating with neighboring disciplines. The positions provide unique opportunities for research, education, outreach, decision
