In this role, you will serve as the regulatory lead for the Hanford Site Double-Shell Tank System (DST). The Double-Shell Tank System has 28 approximately 1 million gallon underground tanks and contain a mixture of radioactive and dangerous wastes. The Nuclear
Waste Program (NWP) is in the process of issuing a WA Dangerous Waste Permit to Department of Energy for many dangerous waste management units of which the DST System is one. The successful applicant would gain experience in working on one of the most challenging
dangerous waste permit in the nation.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">What you will do:</span></b><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<ul style="margin-top:0in" type="disc">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Be a subject matter and team lead for the NWP staff performing reviews of the DST unit permit applications, development, issuance, and management
of the final unit permit. <o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Serve as a Team Lead for an Environmental Engineer 5 and Chemist 4, and may also need to include an Environmental Engineer 3, a Toxicologist
2, a Toxicologist 3 and a Hydrogeologist 4 to review the DST Hazardous Waste permit information.<o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Oversee compliance with permit requirements. <o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Negotiate cleanup and permit conditions with DOE and its contractor staff and develop final decision documents for issuance. <o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l1 level1 lfo3"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Represent the NWP in explaining scientific bases and technical approaches to permit conditions, regulatory requirements, and policies at meetings
