<b>POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, CONTRAILS</b>, <i>Aeronautics and Astronautics</i>, to contribute to research on understanding, quantifying, and mitigating the impacts of aircraft condensation trails (“contrails”). The aim is to facilitate the long-term reduction
in contrail-related environmental impacts by advancing the state of physical modeling of contrails and identifying contrails in satellite imagery. Research activities include developing computational models of contrails physics; applying models to evaluate
the effects of changes to aviation fuel or routing on contrail environmental impacts; developing new strategies to reduce contrail impacts; and collaborating with combustion engineers, aircraft systems engineers, and atmospheric scientists to improve understanding
of contrails and their representation in computational models. The postdoc will expand their focus to cover several of the topics outlined in the scope of their work; publish research results with leading journals/conferences in the fields of aerospace engineering,
energy, and environment; collaborate with graduate students; support leadership for group projects; and assist lab leadership with sponsor communications. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

team setting, prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, and work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Preference will be given to candidates with machine learning experience in the context of image processing or
