<p class="MsoNormal">The Department of Soil Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking applications for a tenure track assistant professor position (9 months) in Environmental Soil Chemistry. The position carries a commitment to the three important
functions of instruction, research, and outreach, as well as professional and university service as appropriate to the faculty rank. Environmental Soil Chemistry is a core research and expertise area in the Department of Soil Science. The successful candidate
is expected to develop an active research program, teach, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students, and engage in outreach activities as needed. The selected candidate will be expected to develop a research program centered around the chemical and physical
distribution, reactions at solid-liquid interfaces, transformations, and fate of current and emerging contaminants in industrial, urban, natural, or agricultural soils. Examples of such soil contaminants are, but not limited to, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals,
pesticides, salts, nanoparticles, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), viruses, and prions.<o:p></o:p></p>
