a range of systems, including surface-groundwater interactions, tidal wetlands, estuaries, and intermittent streams. The projects will use a combination of continuous in situ gas concentration measurements and stable isotope techniques (N2O isotopomers,
15N labelling) to understand the fate and transport of reactive nitrogen within these dynamic ecosystems.

work is to make estimates of, and better understand the factors controlling, N2O emissions from aquatic systems under global change. We are also interested in how to better manage these systems to enhance their nitrogen (e.g. denitrification vs
anammox) removal capacity while minimising associated greenhouse gas emissions (Nature Based Solutions).
