<div dir="ltr"><div>We're seeking a postdoctoral research associate for a
NASA-funded project examining the
role of mountains in global climate model (GCM) biases and projected
climate changes. The goal of the project is to reduce pervasive rainfall
biases in GCM simulations. The project involves running and analyzing
fully atmosphere-ocean coupled simulations of the NASA GISS GCM with
various topographic boundary conditions, and using innovative machine
learning-based methods for GCM tuning. The project benefits from
collaboration between my group at University of California Irvine and
Dr. Gregory
Elsaesser at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New
York City.
