The appointee(s) will investigate marine biogeochemical processes in Hong Kong performing field sampling and analytical work. Applicants are invited to design their research project in coastal marine biogeochemistry in collaboration with Prof. Thibodeau. Applicants interested in the following themes are especially encouraged to apply: (1) carbon and nitrogen dynamic in wetlands; (2) drivers of oxygen cycling in coastal water; and (3) sources and cycling of nitrogen in heavily urbanized environments.<br class=""><br class="">Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Environmental Science or a related discipline; (ii) excellent oral and written communication skills in English; (iii) the ability to work independently and the willingness to participate in team-based interdisciplinary research; and (iv) experience in geochemistry, stable isotopes and/or microbiological techniques.<br class=""><br class="">Appointment will be made on contract basis for two years. <br class=""><br class="">Applicants should provide the following documents in the online application: (1) cover letter including proposed research plan in Hong Kong (maximum two pages); (2) full curriculum vitae (including academic qualifications, research experience and publications); (3) copies of academic certificates; and (4) name of three referees.<br class=""><br class=""><b class="">About The Chinese University of Hong Kon</b>g<br class="">Founded in 1963, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) is a forward-looking comprehensive research university with a global vision and a mission to combine tradition with modernity, and to bring together China and the West.
