<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">The California Air Resources Board (CARB) is hiring an Ecosystem Carbon Integration Specialist to work on the cutting-edge of large-scale ecosystem carbon quantification science. This position will be the staff
lead of two major inventory integration projects: (1) Integrate different quantification methods and datasets used for various land types into a statewide Natural and Working Lands Ecosystem Carbon Inventory. (2) Work with other government agencies and public/private
organizations to process, analyze, and interpret datasets separately collected by each agency/organization for integration with remotely sensed data in CARB’s geospatial inventory. There will be lots of opportunities to work with colleagues from other government
agencies and academia on various carbon quantification issues, developing innovative ways of analyzing large datasets, and evaluating newly emerged spatial analytical tools and the latest research for inventory applications. We are looking for someone with
an educational background in landscape ecology, earth system science, climate science, forestry, or related fields; experience of independently developing advanced scientific methodologies for carbon quantification; advanced GIS skills; experience working
with satellite-based and remotely sensed data; and programming skills in Python, R, etc. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
