The successful candidate will develop a nationally recognized, externally funded program that integrates research-based outcomes in soil nutrient management and nutrient cycling in agricultural systems by investigating their impacts on both crop production
and the environment. Areas of interest include but are not limited to: plant and soil nutrient management; nitrogen and phosphorus cycling; integrated crop-livestock systems; manure management; carbon sequestration; greenhouse gas emissions; or other areas
related to system nutrient management, crop productivity, and environmental quality. The selected candidate will collaborate with other departmental and college researchers to provide interdisciplinary support of sustainability and environmental health goals
related to agroecosystems. This effort will include working closely with extension personnel in support of outreach educational programs. Active grower groups in Florida include agronomic, vegetable and fruit crops, and sod and forage-livestock producers.
It is expected that the selected candidate will interact and collaborate with local, state, and national agencies or groups to develop new or further enhance existing nutrient management recommendations. </div>

Tenure will accrue in the Department of Agronomy. The faculty member will participate actively in undergraduate education and graduate education by chairing graduate committees, serving on graduate committees, supervising thesis and dissertation research, supervising
undergraduate research, and publishing the results with their graduate students. Faculty members are also encouraged to participate in professional development activities related to teaching and advising and may teach courses and seminars. The faculty member
will seek contract and grant funding to support their program including operational costs, technical/graduate student support and equipment. The faculty member will develop a comprehensive extension program with measureable objectives and outcomes in crop
and livestock nutrient systems and their environmental impact. The candidate will work with other IFAS specialists and county faculty to deliver extension programs to target audiences using field days, clientele meetings, newsletters, EDIS (Electronic Data
Information System) publications, and other electronic media. The faculty member will actively participate in the Extension Focus Team related to nutrient management. Because of the IFAS land-grant mission, all faculty are expected to be supportive of and
engaged in all three mission areas—Research, Teaching and Extension—regardless of the assignment split specified in the position description. </div>
