Outstanding candidates with research and teaching interests in all areas of geophysics are invited to apply. We particularly encourage applicants who integrate geophysical methods in biogeosciences, energy, environment science, <span class="" style="font-size: 13.2px;">hydrology, geodynamics, geomechanics, and urban studies.</span></p><p class="" style="font-family: ArialMT; font-size: 13.2px; font-variant-ligatures: normal; orphans: 2; widows: 2; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); text-decoration-thickness: initial;">The <a href="https://www.cuhk.edu.hk/sci/essc/" class="">Earth System Science Programme</a> aims to study the dynamics of the Earth as an interrelated system that includes the atmosphere, biosphere, cryosphere, lithosphere and hydrosphere, as well as anthropogenic impacts. The programme features geophysics as one of its concentrations. The <a href="http://www.sci.cuhk.edu.hk/en-gb/" class="">Faculty of Science</a> is one of the eight Faculties at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and presently has more than 170 teaching and research faculty members and 3,000 students, offering 14 undergraduate programmes and 20 postgraduate programmes. All faculty members are committed to excellence in teaching, research and service.</p><p class="" style="font-family: ArialMT; font-size: 13.2px; font-variant-ligatures: normal; orphans: 2; widows: 2; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); text-decoration-thickness: initial;">Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree and preferably postdoctoral experience related to geophysics; and (ii) a track record in or potential for teaching and research excellence. The appointee will contribute to teaching and advising undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as developing a vigorous, externally funded research programme.
