This is a nine-month, tenure-track position. Salary will be commensurate with experience. We seek a colleague whose research interests are centered on silviculture, with linkages to nutrient cycling, timber, bioenergy, wildlife habitat, carbon sequestration, climate change adaptation, recreation, or cultural values. Responsibilities would include: 1) teach undergraduate and graduate courses in silviculture; 2) develop an externally funded research program in silviculture; 3) mentor undergraduates and advise M.S. and Ph.D. students; and 4) participate in College and University committees. The candidate must have the ability to teach effectively; a Ph.D. in silviculture or closely related field at the time of appointment; a record of research and scholarship in silviculture; and the ability to communicate effectively with professionals and the general public. Preferred qualifications include: experience teaching courses in silviculture or managed forest vegetation dynamics; postdoctoral research experience; successful externally funded grants; additional certification or other credentials relevant to the practice of forestry; and experience in resource management.
