<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The <b>USDA-ARS, Southeast Watershed Research Laboratory in Tifton, GA</b> is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The research program, under the direction of Dr.
Oliva Pisani, is focused on identifying shifts in soil microbial community composition in response to land use and/or management practices. Research topics include, but are not limited to, identifying associations between the soil microbial community structure;
soil organic matter content, chemical composition, and physical protection mechanisms; carbon and nutrient cycling; and crop productivity. Analysis of the soil microbial community will be accomplished by extraction of phospholipid fatty acids (PLFA) and identification/quantitation
by gas chromatography coupled with flame ionization detection. A recently completed Ph.D. in a related field and relevant publication(s) are required.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The incumbent will fulfill several essential roles in the program including helping to implement current research projects which will require
a strong and relevant research background, and attention to detail. He/she will be responsible for summary and interpretation of experimental data which will require critical thinking skills, knowledge of standard statistical procedures, experience with relevant
soil extraction and analytical techniques, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">He/she will be responsible for writing and assembling manuscripts for submission to high quality peer-reviewed journals. We are looking for a
