<b class="">Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign invites applications for Postdoctoral Researcher Opportunity</b><br class="">

We are seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position at the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The successful candidate will work on developing a coupled aerosol-cloud model for process-level

 investigation of the aerosol-cloud droplet-ice crystal life cycle in stratiform mixed-phase clouds.<br class="">

The goal of this DOE-ASR-funded project is to gain a predictive understanding of the process chain that leads from aerosols to ice-nucleating particles to ice crystal number concentrations in stratiform mixed-phase clouds.<br class="">

The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team of cloud and aerosol modelers and experimentalists from Stony Brook University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, NASA-GISS, and Penn State University.<br class="">

 The applicant must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent international degree) in atmospheric sciences, or a related field, and a demonstrated record of research and publication. Advanced scientific programming skills are essential, and previous experience with cloud

 and aerosol modeling from the process level to the large scale is highly desirable.<br class="">
