Hello Colleagues,

I have an opening for a student (or postdoc) to work on development of the Community Multiscale Air Quality (CMAQ) model at EPA with an emphasis on developing the chemistry of gas and aerosol species. Topics could include consideration
of autoxidation, organic nitrate fate, and/or inclusion of SOA precursors. This project is envisioned as a multi-year effort and would be a great way to provide funding for M.S. or Ph.D. research. Degree-seeking students would need to be enrolled in a program
at a university but would be able to conduct funded research at EPA. EPA is located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina and within a short distance of several universities including UNC, Duke, and NCState. Funding is initially for one year with potential
for renewal. More information about my research and CMAQ are available at https://havalapye.wordpress.com/ and https://epa.gov/cmaq, respectively.

To obtain additional information as well as apply, see https://www.zintellect.com/Opportunity/Details/EPA-ORD-CEMM-AESMD-2020-12. Applications are due no later than 3:00 PM eastern on December 18 but will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
The participant would be expected to start by August 2021 but has some flexibility in the start date.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions or would like to discuss the project and an academic host.
