Salt Lake Community college is seeking applicants for a full-time
tenure-track Assistant Professor of Geography and Geospatial Technology,
to join the Geosciences Department. Salt Lake Community College is
located in the Salt Lake Valley, nestled in the beautiful Wasatch
Mountains. The institution serves a diverse student population of over
30,000 students and is a leader in Open Educational Resources (<span class="gmail-caps">OER</span>), ePortfolio pedagogy, and academic pathways. <br></div><div><br></div><div>
The purpose of this faculty position will be to prepare and teach
college-level general education and majors-level courses in geographic
science (e.g., physical geography, human geography, and/or world
regional geography) and geospatial technology (e.g., geographic
information systems, remote sensing, global positioning systems, drones,
or small unmanned aerial systems). The faculty member may be assigned
to any <span class="gmail-caps">SLCC</span> campus, including online, and
various days and times on an annual basis. All faculty are expected to
teach classes in accordance with the established guidelines (e.g.,
“Full-time Faculty Handbook,”) and policies (e.g., “Academic Freedom,
Professional Responsibility, and Tenure Policy,” and other institutional
policies). In addition, faculty are expected to conduct other
instructional activities including student mentoring and advising,
undergraduate research for students, and curriculum development and
assessment. Faculty are expected to participate in professional
development and serve on departmental and institutional committees. The
