Several important North Atlantic fisheries are at risk from a combination of ocean acidification (OA) and increased temperature. Of these fisheries, the Atlantic sea scallop fishery extending from Maine to North Carolina is the second highest fisheries revenue in the U.S. worth more than $533 million and is the largest wild scallop fishery in the world. The regional economy and fishing community dependence on the sea scallop fishery for social and economic well-being is profound, and this species is highly vulnerable to OA.<br>The aim of this study is to provide a regional projection of changes in the sea scallop fishery to inform fishery management and allow communities that rely on Atlantic sea scallops to plan and become more resilient to future change.
