A 3-year postdoctoral researcher position in land surface
modeling is available at NORCE Norwegian Research Centre AS,
Climate, in Bergen, Norway. More experienced candidates will be
considered for a permanent position as senior researcher.

The position can start as soon as possible, but the start date
is negotiable.

The focus the work will be to improve our understandings on
climate change interaction between permafrost and land surface
using the coupled framework of the state-of-the-art Norwegian
Earth System Model (NorESM).

Main duties include but not limited to 1) implementing and
improving permafrost related processes within the Community Land
Model (CLM) or Community Terrestrial System Model (CTSM) for a
more realistic representation of permafrost processes and
consequences of permafrost thaw (e.g. thermokarst,
infrastructure, flood, land use change, grazing, fire, and
etc.), 2) working together with the NorESM community to evaluate
models with observational data, and 3) maintain and analyze the
CLM/CTSM in the framework of NorESM for the CMIP6 simulations.
