[ES_JOBS_NET] Research Associate (Post Doc) position at Oregon State University - Earth system modeling of grassland function and biogeography

Hawkins, Linnia Rose linnia.hawkins at oregonstate.edu
Wed May 13 10:42:59 MDT 2020

We are seeking a modeling postdoc to work on grass vegetation as part of a project funded by NSF's Macrosystems Biology and NEON-Enabled Science program. The successful applicant will work as part of a large, interdisciplinary team to implement and test a new, evolutionary approach to capturing grass functional diversity and biogeography in Earth System Models. The overall approach, based on lineage functional types, will be based upon expansion of a grass trait database, additional data mining of existing literature on grass functional traits, and model development of processes important to grass modeling. The modeling postdoc will be based at Oregon State University but will travel to the San Francisco Bay Area to work with modeling collaborators (W.J. Riley at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and D. Griffith at NASA Ames Research Center).

Please circulate to anyone who might be interested. Applications are due by May 15, 2020.
