*The Institute of Marine Sciences, National Research Council in Rome,
Italy *would like to hire a talented, motivated and proactive postdoc to
work on assessing the usefulness and suitability of the data by
investigating the climate variability is the main task of the project. In
this context, the candidate, using a set of satellite observations,
atmosphere and ocean reanalyses data, shall validate and assess the quality
of the data at the global scale, focusing on the tropical and Atlantic
regions. Moreover, he/she is expected to study the related atmosphere and
ocean processes to understand the global climate variability especially
over the tropical and Atlantic regions.

*-RESEARCH AREA:* Climate dynamics, Oceanography, Atmosphere Science
*-RESEARCH THEME*: Evaluation and Assessment of Essential Climate Variables
with reanalyses and satellite data at the global scale and the tropical
regions.
*-CONTRACT DURATION*: one year, renewable
*-QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:*
a. PhD in Climate Dynamics, Oceanography, Atmosphere Science, Earth and
Environmental
Science, or closely related fields (geophysics, physics, mathematics,
engineer);
b. Knowledge of at least one programming language (python, R or similar)
c. Experience in large data (satellite observations and reanalysis)
analysis in the ocean,
atmosphere and climate filed.
d. You should possess proven experience and skills in computer programming
in at least one of
the following languages Python, R, C, C++, Fortran in a Linux environment.
