The UCSB Department of Geography seeks a PostDoctoral Scholar in Forest
Ecology and Ecosystem Modeling.

The PostDoc will be engaged in projects with Dr. Anna Trugman that include
the development of ecological theory, mechanistic modeling with demographic
ecosystem models such as ED2, analyzing large datasets, such as remote
sensing and forest inventory data, and field-based experiments to infer
ecological processes across scales. Her lab is interested in a range of
ecological questions centered around how changes in climate and water
availability affect ecosystem diversity, productivity, and resilience.

Qualifications:
Applicants must have completed all requirements for a PhD in Ecology,
Environmental Science or a related field, except the dissertation, at the
time of application, with a background in programming languages (Matlab,
Python, R, or other equivalents).

Additional Qualifications:

   - PhD awarded by the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications:
-Solid record of productive and creative research demonstrated by
publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific
conferences
-Demonstrated experience working with mechanistic vegetation or land
surface models or large geospatial datasets in a high performance computing
environment.
