This position supports the Department of Energy (DOE) office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) in project management activities including, but not limited to, Funding Opportunity Announcements, project management and technical support for competitively-selected cooperative agreements. Support involves day to day interactions with internal parties such as legal, contracting, NEPA, and communications; as well as external communication with project recipients in academia, private industry, and National Laboratories.
Responsibilities:
* Directly support projects in the Geothermal Technologies Office (GTO) in scientific, engineering, and technical analyses.
* Make recommendations and advises on system development, improvements, and optimization.
* Provide project management, performance monitoring, documentation, and progress assessment for GTO funded projects.
* Support the development, coordination, and management of competitive solicitations and merit reviews.
* Engage with GTO stakeholders on an appropriate level to ensure needs and gaps are being addressed where possible at the Federal level.
* Assist in the development of internal briefing materials for decision makers, and contribute technical review of external communications
* Successfully represent the program status to senior government officials, congressional stakeholders, academia, and industry partners.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's Degree in relevant Engineering or Scientific discipline (such as Geothermal, Geoscience, Petroleum, etc.).
* 5+ years' experience.
* Excellent communication skills - verbal and written. Demonstrated independent problem-solving skills.
* Familiar with geothermal technologies.
* Professional attitude.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access.
* Authorized to work in the United States with no restrictions; U.S. Citizen or Permanent US Resident.
Preferred:
* Experience working in the Geothermal industry.
* Project management experience/PMP certification.
* Ability to actively track and monitor government-funded research and development projects.
* Experience working within DOE EERE Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Self-starter, an ability to work both independently and as part of a highly dynamic collaborative team Ability to balance multiple long and short term projects and competing priorities.
