Major Duties

- Teach general education courses and undergraduate and graduate courses in
his or her field(s) of specialization.

- Assume the responsibilities of the graduate program advisor for
approximately 60 MS and PhD students.

- Oversee and grow Core Kids outreach program and contribute to other
departmental outreach initiatives.

- Support the missions of the Michigan Geological Survey and the Michigan
Repository for Research and Education.  

 

Minimum Qualifications

- An earned Ph.D. in geology or a closely-related field from an accredited
institution at the time of appointment.

- Three years or more of teaching experience at the undergraduate and
graduate levels.  

 

Desired Qualifications

- Teaching experience in a wide range of undergraduate courses including
structural geology.

- Experience in designing and implementing outreach activities.

- Experience in advising graduate students.

- Demonstrated record of active research and publications.

- Ability to support the missions of the Michigan Geological Survey and
Michigan Repository for Research and Education.
