Rice University <http://www.rice.edu/> is hosting the 2019 Gulf Coast
Undergraduate Research Symposium (GCURS) <http://gcurs.rice.edu/> to be
held at Rice University Nov. 2-3, 2019.

GCURS is a forum for undergraduate researchers to present original research
discoveries via 10-12 minute presentations. Faculty mentors will give
on-the-spot coaching and feedback to student participants.

Past attendees report that giving formal presentations in a
multi-institution event is more interesting and valuable than the
traditional poster session. GCURS fosters intercollegiate interactions
among students and faculty who share a passion for undergraduate research.

Interested students should register online at gcurs.rice.edu by Oct. 7,
2019 at 11:59 PM ET. Advisers can also register online at gcurs.rice.edu.
The symposium is a full day on Saturday and is followed by professional
development activities on Sunday Nov. 3.


Please forward this email to any of your students or faculty colleagues
with student researchers who might be appropriate for this event. We are
delighted if advisers accompany their students, and are happy to involve
accompanying advisers as faculty mentors in the sessions. Here
