at the USGS Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center in Santa Cruz,
California. Any recent PhD students with an excellent academic record and
interested in conducting original research related to marine minerals are
encouraged to apply. * No prior research experience with marine minerals is
necessary and the specific research topic is flexible, within the limits of
the advertisement*.

These positions are competitive and filled based on availability of funds
and qualified applicants; the deadline for submission will be* January 6,
