Columbia University: Cloud Physics Postdoctoral Research Scientist

The Center for Cimate Systems Research at Columbia University invites applicants for a postdoctoral researcher in cloud physics at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) in New York City. Appointment is full-time for a two-year period, with possible extension to a third year.

We invite applications to work with a group of modelers and observationalists at NASA GISS. The applicant should indicate interest to focus on one or two of the following subject areas: dynamics-embedded microphysics at the intersection of large-eddy simulations and observations of warm and mixed-phase shallow cloud systems, observational constraint of climate model cloud and precipitation physics schemes, and weather state or regime-based analysis of climate simulations and long-term observations. Flexibility is available to accommodate applicant interests. A PhD obtained within the past two years and past experience within one or more of these areas or a closely related subject is required.

For additional information and instructions on how to apply for this position, please contact Dr. Ann Fridlind (ann.fridlind at nasa.gov<mailto:ann.fridlind at nasa.gov>). A competitive salary and benefits package is offered. Position is available now and will be open until filled.
