Job Description
---
Responsible for bridging the gap between science and the public through informational tours and external outreach. Oversight, coordination, and scheduling of public, group, and private tours at the NWC. Assist with activities associated with external relations. Produce and add content to National Weather Center digital platforms. Coordinate onsite and online NWC merchandise sales. Support AGSC student recruitment initiatives. Coordinate outreach activities with all OU & NOAA units in the NWC.



Job Requirements
---
Required Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND:

  *   24 months in tour guide, community outreach and engagement, or communications positions
Skills:

  *   Knowledge of standard bookkeeping and accounting procedures
  *   Skill in content development and and graphics for public display.
  *   Must be able to create and deliver effective presentations.
  *   Demonstrated web design and maintenance skills.
  *   Ability to work evenings or weekends as necessitated by tours or outreach events.
  *   Must be able to supervise staff and communicate directions and expectations effectively
Certifications:

  *   Valid drivers license to for driving to/from recruiting and/or outreach events.
Advertised Physical Requirements:

  *   Ability to move, ability to communicate including expressing oneself or exchanging information with others.
Departmental Preferences:

  *   Familiarity with the National Weather Center and the organizations housed in the building
  *   A higher education degree, Bachelor's or above in Earth Sciences, Meteorology, or a related field.
Supervision: Student Group
